Our HISTORY
Preventing Cervical Cancer, Transforming Lives
Our Story
The Founding of PINCC
PINCC was established by gynecologist Dr. Kay Taylor in 2005. Dr. Taylor was inspired to help women battle cervical cancer after a medical mission to Honduras. She saw more fatal cases of cervical cancer in one trip than she had during her entire career. In late 2005 she launched the first PINCC trip to visit the Mosquito Coast of Honduras. With a team of only three eager volunteers, the first PINCC team visited three health clinic sites and began training healthcare workers in cervical cancer screening and treatment.
Continuing the Mission
Today PINCC is operated by Dr. Melissa Miskell —a Board Certified gynecologist who worked closely with Dr. Taylor during her missions for seven years. Dr. Miskell assumed the role of Medical Director upon Dr. Taylor's retirement and now acts as PINCC's Executive Director.
Since 2017, Dr. Miskell has expanded PINCC’s global presence to stretch many borders, saving and changing thousands of lives globally. While under her expertise, PINCC has certified over 30 local medical providers in thermal ablation. PINCC has traveled an astronomical 200,394 miles from our headquarters in Texas, to rural communities ensuring every woman has access to dignified reproductive health care. PINCC’s impact and approach to sustainability have gained support from over 300 medical and support volunteers dedicating their skills, passion, and time for over 12,000 international volunteer hours.

Our Pledge To Sustainability
Education and sustainability are key components of PINCC's mission, empowering communities to thrive. Local medical professionals receive intensive training to conduct screenings, identify precancerous conditions, and treat them. Providing women with consistent access to life-saving care is ensured by these efforts, which ensure ongoing, self-sustaining programs beyond the presence of PINCC. With the goal of empowering communities to combat cervical cancer independently, PINCC promotes a sustainable healthcare model that transforms lives.
